Spending time in Florida with my little girl has been one of my greatest joys in life. (I'm pretty sure there will be a whole blog about the why coming very soon.) But until then, lets just say I am just so thankful for time with family. The pandemic has made me realize how precious time is and I know I'll never regret spending more time with my family.
But back to Aldermans.
Aldermans Ford Park was never a family favorite/must-visit per say, but we went a handful of times and I always thought it was a neat park. The main trail is a two mile loop, covered in gorgeous greenery, with the Alafia River coming out to play a few times here and there. There are multiple wooden bridges which are every kid's favorite to bike-ride over.
The best thing about this park is that it's mostly covered in trees so you are in the shade 90% of the time. We decided to go late in the afternoon on a whim, expecting to sweat our faces off, but it was surprisingly cool in the shade. Score! The entire loop is paved, so it's perfect for strollers and kids on bikes.
About halfway through the walk we decided to let Mia girl get out of the stroller and toddle along next to us. She giggled and trotted the whole rest of the way. Gosh I love her little giggle. She had so much fun looking at the "twees" and "skurrels." We can only hope the next time we visit, the playground will be open for business. It's a sad world when you see yellow caution tape on all of the slides and playground equipment.
Okay, enough of that depressing banter. Enjoy these phone pics from our walk! :)
Doesn't it look like a jungle? I want to take a family here for some photos!
