Encouragement For The Busy Mama

If you've ever walked away from the self-checkout register without the items you just purchased, this post is for you. It's is a little different from my usual, but it's an issue that needs addressing. 😅

What prompted this post? I'm so glad you asked. Amelia and I were visiting with a friend when I started gathering my belongings to leave. I did a quick inventory: keys, Minnie Mouse, shoes, sun glasses, child, phone. Cool cool cool. I have everything I came with.

Ten minutes down the road, with a fussy almost-two-year-old, I started feeling around for the binky; which we will be ditching the second Daddy gets home from his work trip. Update: its not in the car. I turned the car around and drove ten minutes back to my friend's house to retrieve the binky.

I felt myself growing embarrassed and fed up with my constant "mom brain." Why can't I ever remember everything I came with? Why am I so embarrassing!? Why do I have to spread my crap out every time I go somewhere? My friend must think I'm so scatterbrained.

I decided all that negativity was just taking up space in my already full brain, so I left it on the side of the road next to some other forgetful mamas ran-over coffee mug. ✌🏼

So what if I had to ask Siri to write down this idea for a blog post. 🤷🏼‍♀️ The truth is we are all trying our best. We are all a little distracted keeping the tiny humans happy, fed, and enriched. So be kind to yourself.

The only tips I have would be more of an insult because us forgetful mamas know we should keep all of our stuff in one place at someone else's house. We know we should carry a bag to keep the stuff contained. We know we need to slow down and focus on what we are doing. But that's not super helpful. So we do our best, win some and lose some sippy cups.

Here are some snaps of my little girl who doesn't even know how much I'd give up for her. ❤️
