Family Session At Peterson AFB Colorado Springs

Before we lived in the house we do now, my husband and I lived on Peterson Air Force Base. You can read my blog about our experience living on base, but I'll just tell you it was special. This was the house where we brought our first baby home. The house we lived in for a year without a baby girl. The house I came home to every day while working as a middle school teacher, a mile away. The house I went into labor in, while eating a sandwich. The house where my husband fell down the stairs in front of our good friends and I laughed for weeks after.

Needless to say, Peterson will always have a special place in my heart. And while I only live about ten miles away, it still feels nostalgic every time I drive on base to hit up the BX or visit a friend. When Joanna told me she wanted to do a session on base, I was so excited. See, I started taking photos {of other people} at a park near the one we took these photos. It felt great to be back taking photos where it all began for me. The McComas family lived across the street from me on Peterson, so it was even more fun photographing people I know.

Peterson has the most lush green grass and gorgeous full trees everywhere you look. The walking trails and parks all beg to be photographed. But even this airplane museum made for some stunning backdrops too. Enjoy these images from the McComas Family's session!
