Longboat Key Family Beach Vacation

Being a military spouse means having occasional built-in opportunities to go back home and visit family; and I'm here for it. This summer, the opportunity presented itself, and I was not going to miss the chance to spend time with my parents and enjoy the sunshine in Florida.

Here are my highlights from the weekend getaway to Longboat Key:

  1. Bringing Amelia out to her first sunset and sand squishing session. (This was her first ever beach sunset.) She hated the ocean and clung to her mama like white on rice. Then taking her out for her first full beach day and watching her fall in love with the ocean. I'm never going to forget her fearlessness! (And now we are looking for a swim instructor!)

  2. Watching my sister fling Amelia over the waves; forcing the most contagious giggles to erupt from Amelia. Then hearing my sister ask "are you having fun," and Amelia replying "nooooo." 😏

  3. Waking up early and collecting shells with my mom and Amelia. We still have no clue what we are going to do with the shells, (haha), but we have them in a bag on the counter. 😅

  4. Realizing Amelia knows the "BOOM BOOM" part of the Frozen intro song I've been singing her since March. "Na na na hey na na na hey na na...BOOM BOOM"

  5. And finally, taking Amelia out for the grand Julie Vickers Photography portrait session and watching her work her magic. 💖

Thanks Dad for letting me get in a few pics. 😅

We had such a wonderful time and we will cherish the memories forever!

Bye, cute little beach condo! I hope to visit again soon! 👋🏼
